Basic Education Requirements:
This position has a positive education requirement which requires that you have 1) A Degree:
economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus; -OR- 2) A combination of education and
Experience:
courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown above in 1. plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to the basic education requirements, you must meet specialized experience requirements. Specialized
Experience:
Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the work required/performed at the next lower grade of the position to be filled. For GS-13:
One year (12 months) of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service is required. Examples of specialized experienced, is defined as but not limited to:
experience working with economic principles and theories to perform economic analyses in natural resources or environmental-related areas; and experience evaluating and resolving unusual natural resources and/or environmental-related economic problems. For the GS-14:
One year (12 months) of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service is required. Examples of specialized experience are defined as, but not limited to:
experience working with economic principles and theories to perform economic analyses in natural resources or environmental-related areas; and experience evaluating and resolving unusual, complex and unique natural resources and/or environmental-related economic problems. There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at this grade level. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
