Purpose of Position:
This position will serve as a project manager for the Department of Public Safety's (DPS) Traffic and Criminal Software (TraCS) Program which provides law enforcement officers the ability to create electronic citations, crash reports and other forms. The IT Project Manager I will be responsible for developing TraCS Program policies and strategic plans, and will assist in the selection of effective and secure Information Technology (IT) hardware, software, security, project management, risk assessment, quality assurance and/or network tools for the TRaCS Program. The incumbent will supervise the maintenance, configuration and support of the department's TRaCS server and database systems as well as the desktop application and related systems. The position will oversee the monitoring of these systems to ensure availability to all system users and necessary maintenance to support network availability. The incumbent will generate regular statistical or performance measurement reports, and/or ad hoc reports. In addition, the incumbent will also serve as first line supervisor of two (2) End User Support employees dedicated to TraCS and will be responsible for performance management.
This position is a Pay Band IE.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Computer Science or similar technical major and four (4) years of experience in software development or systems analysis. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totalingsix (6)years may substitute for the required education and experience. CAPM certification may be substituted for one year of experience.
Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License, complete a defensive driving training course and obtain a defensive driving certificate. Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a law enforcement office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Occasionally work extra hours, weekends and holidays. Travel as required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
