TheController implements and maintains sound accounting systems that ensure the smooth operation of Inn and Spa at Loretto.In addition,provides sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to guests and colleagues.
1.Oversees the operation of the accounting, purchasing, and night audit staff.
2.Supervises and coordinates external and internal audit processes.
3.Manages cash flow for Inn and spa at Loretto.
4.Reviews and signs off on monthly entries by accounting staff.
5.Prepare, review and present the monthly financial statements.
6.Ensure timely completion of all balance sheet account reconciliations.
annual budget preparation and monthly forecast with General Manager. Advise hotel management, corporate office and owners of any major variances and their impact on the operation.
8.Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard hotel assets. Maintain adequate internal control over revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities of the hotels and ensure accounts are maintained according to GAAP and the Uniform System of Accounts.
9.Audits internal accounting functions for accuracy and timeliness.
10. Coordinates all quarterly and monthly inventory processes.
11. Reviews daily night audit report for prior day's activity.
12. Participates as an active member of the Executive Team.
13. Provides employees with the information needed to perform their job effectively.
14. Hire, train and supervise Accounting department staff including coaching, counseling and discipline.
15. Prioritizes and assigns work.
16. Provides feedback to the employee on his/her performance of job responsibilities and performs regular job performance evaluations.
17. Maintains a daily log of important information to share with the department.
18. Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events.
19. Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
20. Monitor and approve all sales, purchases, salaries and expenses of the Resort
21. Analyze financial data of operations in order to educate and advise hotel staff and management on the value and benefits of internal controls and maintaining an efficient operation. Assist and counsel all department heads in the interpretation of financial data and recommend courses of action to optimize profitability.
22. Provide financial oversight of the capital expenditure process. Ensure capital projects are completed within established critical path and financial projections and that proper approvals are obtained.
23. Ensure that all licenses and permits are current and are in compliance with local, state and Federal lows. Monitor all contracts and agreements and advise hotel management of the terms, conditions and benefits.
24. Is knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and Resort policies.
25. Upholds all safety standards of Inn and Spa at Loretto and Destination Hotels and Resorts.
26. Is able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
27. Is ateam playerandinteracts with all guests and fellow Associates in a positive and friendly manner.
Required Qualifications
College degree required
5 years prior accounting or hospitality experience.
Experience in high volume establishments.
Excellent communication skills.
Technical proficiency (computer applications).
Attention to detail.
Customer service experience.
Strong organizational and time management discipline.
Understanding of hospitality operating systems.
Solid judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
Operate effectively in stressful situations.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to adapt to changing guest needs.
