Summary:
o Assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties.
Essential Functions & Typical Duties:
o Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools such as sawing, erecting, and dismantling scaffolding, shoring and braces, mounting pipe hangers, cutting, and attaching insulation material, etc.
o Smoothes and finishes freshly poured concrete using float, trowel, or screen.
May mix concrete or mortar using portable mixer.
o Demolish building material, structural and finish.
o Lifts, carries, and holds building materials and supplies, levels earth to fine grade using pick and shovel and measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes and stretches tight line.
o Grinds, sands, and polishes surfaces such as concrete or wood.
o Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work area.
o Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures.
o Works harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others always.
o Performs miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
o Worker should be able to:
o Follow specific instructions; perform a variety of duties that change often; repeat tasks of short duration according to set procedures; work within standard of accuracy; and evaluate information using measurable standards.
o Physically, worker must be able to stand and walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing 100 pounds; climb up and down ladders, scaffolding and other objects and carry tools and equipment; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see and hear (naturally or with correction).
o High school diploma preferred and on the job training required.
Minimum
Qualifications:
1.
Current and valid drivers' license in the state of permanent residence (must meet LLR's automobile insurance carrier requirements in order to drive an LLR vehicle).
2.
Must pass required LLR Construction drug screen and agree to random drug screens.
3.
Must pass a prescreen physical to ensure capabilities to complete tasks for this job.
4.
Willingness to attend safety meetings and receive required training on employee's own time.
Continuing education is required.
5.
Ability follows set procedures and standards as well as compare and recognize differences in size, shape and form of lines, figures, and objects.
Picture objects from drawings or diagrams, rate information using standards that can be measured or checked, calculate amounts of concrete required for each job and work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
6.
Ability to work out of town and varying hours as required, evenings or weekends.
7.
Ability to work in a variety of environments which will include working outside in extreme weather conditions and noise levels.
