Director of Market Operations (DMO) Classification:
Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Job summary For the International Folk Art Alliance (IFAA), doing business as the International Folk Art Market (IFAM), the Market Logistics Coordinator provides key support for the logistical and production elements necessary to produce the annual International Folk Art Market Santa Fe, working closely with the DMO, other key staff, primary volunteers, vendors, and partners.
The International Folk Art Market Santa Fe will take place July 11-14, 2024 in Railyard Park.
Last year we welcomed more than 12,000 guests, and over 170 artists from 50 countries.
Essential functions Collaboration with the DMO through setup, load-in, the Market itself, and teardown.
Warehouse organization Physical arrangement of the IFAM warehouse space.
Better utilization of space to accommodate the receiving of art.
Assistance in the planning and integration of a more appropriate shelving system.
Implementation of a new storage system.
Inventory of all materials within the IFAM warehouse.
Assistance to the DMO in developing detailed load-in procedures in advance of the 2024 Market.
Assistance to the DMO in forming a logistical operations plan for the entire Market.
Evaluation of the effectiveness of all Market contractors and partners.
Development of a plan for IFAM equipment rental.
Research of IFAM's prior Markets, initiatives, and ideas.
The performing of other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.
High level of accuracy, excellent attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated success in performing event coordination functions.
Proficiency with email communication and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Passion for the mission of the International Folk Art Market.
Driver's license required.
Supervisory Responsibilities Not responsible for hiring and evaluation.
Physical demands Ability to sit and/or stand for sustained periods of time.
Comfort with repetitive motions.
Ability to convey and receive detailed or important spoken information to and from others accurately.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfort working in outdoor environments.
Work environment/Dynamics This position takes place in a fast-paced environment, especially during the months prior to and during the production of the International Folk Art Market Santa Fe.
The incumbent should be prepared to be on call during this period and immediately following.
Work assignments may change depending upon unforeseen and unpredictable developments including changes in IFAA structure and systems, new technologies, and world events.
Personal flexibility is required and expected, as is a high degree of personal integrity and trustworthiness.
