Why does the job exist? The position is part of the Call Center Unit responsible for providing excellent customer service by providing the information required for retirement purposes.
PERA represents 50,000 active members, 40,000 retirees and 31 retirement plans.
How does it get done? Respond to all calls and provide customer service for members Verify and audit retirement requests Meet with members and provide guidance to retirement questions Who are the customers? PERA active and inactive members PERA retirees PERA affiliated agencies PERA affiliated employers Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have:
Ability to deal with difficult situations Excellent customer service skills Ability to adhere to strict guidelines Ability to understand and follow rules and statutes Minimum Qualification High School Diploma or Equivalency and one (1) year of direct experience in bookkeeping, retirement processing, benefits administration, and/or auditing.

Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
