This position is responsible for the Human Resources operations and direction of the agency in accordance with federal and state laws, statutes rules and regulations.
This position functions to support the agency in its statutory responsibilities by providing guidance and support to all Commissioners and Staff in relation to HR activities.
How does it get done? Direct staff to ensure that the bureau requirements are met or exceed standards daily.
Ensure the agency and state deadlines are adhered to.
Provide management and supervisors guidance on human resources issues.
Plan, organize and supervise human resources, policy and procedures, and training and employee development operations to ensure programs are properly executed, monitored, and conform to SPB Rules, department policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreement and sound principals of human resource management.
Manage and coordinate the department s disciplinary process.
Evaluate requests for reorganization, position reclassification and compensation and advise management and HR bureau staff accordingly.

Agency Management and staff Ideal Candidate Experience in HR Management field Ability to interpret SPB Rules, agency policies/procedures Experience in training management and staff in all areas of Human Resources Experience in FMLA/EEOC, state and federal laws Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
Minimum Qualification Bachelor's Degree in any related field and five (5) years of experience in human resource operations; recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation, and benefits administration and/or occupational analysis.
One (1) year of supervisory experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of this classification.

Working Conditions This position operates in an office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting.
