Why does the job exist? The Energy Security Program Coordinator serves as the state lead and subject matter expert on energy security.
How does it get done? The Energy Security Program Coordinator coordinates multiple aspects of the energy security program, including managing updates of the State Energy Security Plan; communicating regularly with the energy industry; monitoring disruptions and outages; coordinating with other state and federal agencies to plan exercises, and providing technical assistance where appropriate.
Who are the customers? Customers include the Energy Conservation Managment Division (ECMD), the energy industry and energy customers.
This position works closely with the U.
S.
Department of Energy, the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission and the state Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
Knowledge of the energy industry and energy markets Experience with risk mitigation and emergency planning Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to work independently and with a team of professionals Experience working for federal, state or local government Minimum Qualification Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position.
