Why does the job exist? This position is responsible for supporting all of the computer systems and IT related hardware/software for all New Mexico Army National Guard (NMARNG) which includes over 900 computers, 150 printers, multiple mobile devices, and other technology spread across 20 locations in the State.
This position will perform routine maintenance tasks and resolve IT (hardware/software) problems immediately to ensure that needs are completely addressed.
How does it get done? End User Computer Support - analyzes operating systems and applications to include Active directly, DHCP IPv4, Windows applications, and all software (Adobe Reader, Oracle Java, MS Office Pro, SAP GUI Anti-Virus, Etc.
) on over 900 clients.
Printer and end-user IT peripheral support - troubleshoot and resolve network printer IT Peripheral (scanners, web cams, USB printer, etc.
) devices for all full-time users in the state on the National Guard Network.
Who are the customers? New Mexico National Guard personnel, Department of Military Affairs management and staff, and the citizens of New Mexico.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have:
IT knowledge and experience with IT hardware and software and the ability to provide timely support to end users within the assigned areas Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory Account Administration - Knowledge of network security practices, anti- virus, and encryption software Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with peers, clients, customers and higher-level staff.
Experience working with computer imaging software in an enterprise environment.
Must have up-to-date/valid Security Plus Certification Minimum Qualification High School Diploma or Equivalent and one (1) years of experience in providing technical support to end-users for computer hardware, software, and/or network related problems.

If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of semester hours in a field (e.

6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications.

Employment Requirements Security Plus certification is required within 6 months upon hire.
Employment is subject to background check and is conditional pending results.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with no limitations or restrictions.
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT); requires sitting in front of VDT for extended periods of time; work in cramped spaces and positions; close exposure to CRT's, VDT's and UV rays.
Stress associated with working in a high-ticket volume environment, being able to deal with the constant traffic of user problems and system breakdowns.
Requires the ability to reach above the head; lift up to 35 pounds.
Requires the use of manual dexterity while operating a computer keyboard.
In-state travel is required.
May be required to work at alternate work sites.
Must possess and maintain a valid NM Driver's License in order to drive a state vehicle.
