Why does the job exist? This position serves as the Human Resources Generalist III and is responsible for the providing HR support for the Public Employees Retirement Association.
How does it get done? Analyze and create compensation actions ensuring quality analysis of request and provide recommendations on approvals or alternate recommendations based on appropriate placement and internal alignment.
Process bi-weekly payrolll, time sheet corrections, leave audits and leave adjustments, as well as maintain payroll filing system to ensure all documents are properly filed.
This includes processing PERA certifications, direct deposit agreements, W-4, retro pay requests, TLV's and manual warrant requests for out of cycle payments in accordance with DFA rules and regulations.
Responsible for all recruitment functions in SHARE including creating job orders, job postings, certifying applicant lists and providing application information to hiring managers.
Plan and facilitate the on-boarding process for all PERA employees.
Maintain personnel files, position records and ensure data in SHARE HCM accurately reflects current files.
Administer leave benefits, ensuring eligibility and compliance with governmental regulations for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Parental Leave, Bereavement Leave, etc.
Who are the customers? This position supports all PERA staff.
Ideal Candidate Experience using SHARE/Human Capital Management (HCM) modules including time entry, payroll, recruitment and processing transactions Experience preparing/reviewing personnel compensation and classification actions and forms required by the State Personnel Office.
Experience interpreting and explaining State Personnel Board (SPB) and Department of Finance (DFA) Rules and Regulations, State and Federal employment acts and laws to provide human resources guidance to employees and managers.
Ability to multi-task while displaying a high attention to detail.
Minimum Qualification Bachelor's Degree in any field and one (1) year of experience in human resource operations; recruitment, selection, payroll, compensation and benefits administration, labor relations, investigations, HR related training experience and/or occupational analysis.
